When I Was A Kid
This is a Tumblr by a 20-something comedian about stuff he liked when he was kid. Stuff like cartoons, commercials, toys, and, you know, stuff.

One of my seminal childhood movies was Masters of The Universe, starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man.  I think I must’ve watched it every weekend when I lived in The Philippines.  I also watched the He-Man cartoon, so I was disappointed when the live-action version didn’t include Battle Cat, who I thought was one of the coolest creatures.  I was also baffled that it took place in “our universe” since that didn’t happen in the cartoon, either; a 22-year-old Courtney Cox played one of the “real world” characters.

Still, getting to see He-Man and Skeletor in the flesh was pretty fucking cool.  In the scene above, Skeletor (played by Frank Langella, who plays Richard Nixon in Frost/Nixon) gives a ridiculous speech about becoming god-like, a Master of The Universe.

I ate it up when I was a kid.
